Toughest Time
I was away form hostel for a couple of week. When I left, things were pretty hunky-dory, but when I returned, my otherwise prettiest friend was in a blue funk. Was that because of my absence? No, she answered. Any conflict in the family? No again. Then why do you look sad? I am not sad! A series of similar queries greeted her and she invariably answered in the negative. Eyes can never lie, I said to myself and hers couldn't either!
I hoped her happiness would see no bounds once I reached there. But apparently, it didn't. I noticed she was somewhat antsy and suffered from insomnia. When I woke up early in the morning the other day, I found her sobbing on the sly. I had never seen her in a similar state of despair before.
Now was the time to delve a bit deeper into the matter. you are hiding something from me, I insisted. "One of my classmates died", pat came her grief-laced reply. How come? She died of bus accident while coming back ktm from home. Her parents were in Chitwan and there was no one to look after accident.
I needed to give her a shot in the arm but the task was cakewalk. I hate to repeat clichés like "we all die on day; death is not in our control: when we are born, we are all meant to die". Neither did I wish to take refuse in hackneyed phrases like "Death is not a doom of life, but it's a dawn of new life!" I heartly helped her in that griefful moment.
Such words may be of great solance when someone dies of a natural cause or of human faults. But in this case, do we do justice to the deceased by saying death is inevitable? Or that she will live a new life? Or it's a God's will? No one in this right mind would dare to answer these questions in the affirmative.
My best life's anguish continues, not only because one innocent life was a sorry end but also because this God was not fair enough. Due to constant event, false is increasing as in high ratio, concerning the whole of humanity. This cause severe emotional fatigue among parents and friends. Where do they come from> Possibly all this matter are of human careless behavior.
I could only offered sorry and help to her further more I could do nothing. I can be sure that it's a great loss of her but only could hope that she will recover soon. It will take time but to a day because time heals everything.
